A pensioner died as he played a round of golf in the Black Country.

The man, named locally as Geoffrey Dimmock, of Cradley Heath, died of a suspected heart attack on the 14th hole of Brandhall Golf Club in Heron Road, Oldbury.

Paramedics were taken to the scene by golf buggy after Mr Dimmock, aged 71, collapsed on Saturday.

Ambulance Service spokeswoman Claire Thomas said: "Despite the best efforts of ambulance crews, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
