Black Country ex-footballers helped raise more than £3,000 for Help for Heroes at a charity match.
More than 500 people saw managers and coaches from Forest Falcons Junior Football Club play Wolves All Stars on Saturday at the Stourbridge FC's ground in High Street, Amblecote.
The match, featuring former Wolves players Mel Eves, Dale Rudge, John Williams and Darren Simkin among others, raised £2,055 from ticket and programme sales.
This will be boosted by £750 from Barclays bank and £200 from Royal Mail.
When player sponsorship money comes in, it will boost the total to more than £3,000.
Bryn Nicholls, chairman of the Falcons, who usually play at Lea Vale playing fields, Norton, said they enjoyed the afternoon immensely despite the All Stars winning five-nil.
"It was just a friendly kick-around, and it was for a good cause so they all had a blast," he said.
"Of course it would have been good if we'd scored – maybe next time."
Mr Nicholls, of Apley Road, Wollaston, said he was thinking of holding a cricket event in summer, and potentially another football event next year for another charity.
