A special birthday present for Sheila Wilkinson has led to her taking her dog Quincy to the world-famous dog show.
Sheila, 75, from Wednesfield already had two Papillions, called Disney and Dennis, which she had bought from a breeder in the Wirral. But after becoming friends with the breeder she was surprised last year by being given Quincy, who is taking part in Crufts.
She said: "My friend insisted on giving me the dog with its registration and he came to me just in time for my birthday last May."
Sheila seems sure even though one-year-old Quincy has qualified from Crufts he isn't going to win anything.
She said: "He qualified at South Wales Championship show last summer and he hasn't got enough coat as Dennis keeps pulling it out.
"I don't want to split them up because they are good friends but sadly, with half his coat gone, Quincy looks half-starved."
Sheila used to have cavaliers and miniature pincers but has focussed on obedience training with them.
She said: "As you get older you need to have small dogs as they are easier to pick up."
