Tributes have been paid to a member of the Staffordshire Regimental Association who was also a talented singer in a Cannock Chase choir.
Ray Rawlings, aged 73, was a member of the Hednesford branch of the association. He was also a member of the Cannock Chase Orpheus Male Choir. He died on Valentine's Day at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton. His funeral is to take place on Monday, March 8, at 11.30am, at St Nicholas Church, Codsall.
Bob Jordan, spokesman for the Hednesford branch of the Staffordshire Regimental Association, said: "Ray was a pleasant man and a good friend to the association, and he will be greatly missed."
Mr Rawlings sang in the tenor section of Cannock Chase Orpheus Male Choir. Choir spokesman Frank Morris said: "His service was exemplary."
Ray, who lived in Albert Close, Codsall, leaves behind two sons Raymond and Gary and daughter Susan, and seven grandchildren. He also leaves behind his lady companion Betty. He will be buried alongside his wife Joan in the churchyard at St Nicholas Church.
