Harrison Guy Joyce, from Norton Canes, is believed to have been attempting to act out an action move from cartoon series 'Go Diego' before becoming entangled and dying within seconds.
The tragic accident happened on February 4 and now his family have started a campaign to have the design of the blind outlawed.
Parents Scott and Rachel have launched a website, called 'Harrison's Law', demanding that the style of looped cord that killed him is banned in the UK. The cords are subject to tight production controls in the US, Australia and Canada for more than a decade.
A petition to Downing Street has been signed by 148 people in a week. A Facebook group dedicated to the youngster has been joined by more than 800 people.
Harrison leaves two older brothers, Brandon and Conran. To support the campaign visit www.harrisons law.co.uk
