A 22-year-old amateur rugby player from Worcestershire has died in his sleep.
A 22-year-old amateur rugby player from Worcestershire has died in his sleep.
Simon Higgs used to play for Kidderminster Carolians Rugby Football Club. Mr Higgs, formerly of Bewdley, was believed to be living in Cardiff at the time of his death.
Cardiff Coroner's Court confirmed Mr Higgs died on January 27. An inquest has been opened and adjourned until May. Tributes have been paid to the keen sportsman on social networking website Facebook.
His girlfriend Kirsty Morgan wrote: "I'm sat here watching Top Gear even though they are all repeats. Brings back loads of happy memories spent with you in Cardiff and Bewdley. I miss sitting down watching it with you. I love you so much."
Martin Peter Daniels posted: "The saying that God only takes the best is definitely true."
The funeral is at St Leonard's Church, Ribbesford, on February 17 at 1pm followed by a private cremation at Stourbridge. The wake will be held at the club in Marlpool Lane, Kidderminster. Donations to the BHF.
