A police investigation has been launched after a man was shot in the leg at a house in the Black Country.

But officers leading the inquiry said the motive for the shooting is so far unclear.

The man, aged 20, who has now been named, was found with a gunshot injury at the house, in Great Bridge Road, Moxley, after a member of the public reported hearing the sound of a gunshot shortly after 11pm Saturday.

The house is at the junction of Harrowby Road near to the traffic lights linking to the A41 route between Bilston and Darlaston.

West Midlands Police spokeswoman Catherine Preece said: "The man had received a leg injury which isn't being considered as life threatening and is currently in a stable condition in hospital.

"Inquiries into the incident are ongoing at this stage and also into the motive for the incident."

A resident said: "I'm not surprised at all that something like this has happened. Everybody has been complaining about the activities at the property for about 12 months now." Anyone with information should call police on 01922 439178.
