The great-grandmother, who has lived in Stourport since 1974, celebrated her milestone with more than 50 relatives and friends.

Mrs Parr, nee Boots, was born in Halesowen on January 28 1910 and attended the former British School in Stourbridge Road from 1917 to 1922.

The keen singer and cyclist married Sydney in 1938 and the couple had two children Alan and Deanna. After the Second World War the family moved to Jersey where Mrs Parr ran her own dress-making business.

When they returned to the Midlands, she took a full-time job in an embroidery shop and enjoyed sewing and knitting in her spare time.

Mrs Parr, has four grandchildren – Jennifer Levers, Pamela Devine, Phillip Levers and Alison Hancock as well as five great-grandchildren – Rebecca Devine, William, Sara and Anthony Levers and Alfie Hancock. Her daughter Deanna who lives in Stratford-upon-Avon, said: "She still has a lively outlook on life taking an interest in many sports and quizzes on television.
