Robbers left a man lying unconscious in an alleyway in Kidderminster after attacking him and escaping with his mobile phone.

Two men approached the victim from behind in an alleyway off Drake Crescent on the Habberley estate.

He was punched to the ground then kicked in the head, knocking him unconscious.

When he came round the men, described as white and in their 30s, had disappeared and his Samsung mobile phone had been stolen.

The victim, aged in his 30s, visited Kidderminster Hospital for treatment for cuts, grazes and bruising to his head following the robbery at 5.30pm on Sunday.

Dc Jon Cooper said: "This was an unprovoked attack which came from behind and without warning.

"The attackers may have followed the man into the alley or been hanging around in the area for a while."

Witnesses or anyone with information should call Kidderminster CID on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident reference 221-S-250110 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Meanwhile, a man suffered facial injuries as he tried to run away from four robbers who attacked him as he walked in a village near Wolverhampton.

The 22-year-old man was pelted with a can of lager and pulled to the ground face first during the attack in Perton on Saturday.
