A mattress, shopping trolley and a broken stereo are just some of the items mounting up at a fly-tipping hotspot in Dudley.

Piles of broken glass and plastic bottles and even a pair of wellington boots have also been dumped near an alleyway, off Duncan Edwards Close.

Despite several calls to Dudley Council the piles of rubbish near the former MEB site have stayed untouched since the beginning of November, residents say.

It has been branded as "disgusting" by concerned resident Rod Phillips, 59.

The former security guard, who lives in Duncan Edwards Close, said he contacted the council about the rubbish in November.

"I have seen two rats running around in the rubbish, he said. "It is a real health hazard."

Dudley Council spokesman Chris Howes confirmed the land was not owned by the council but said they would look into who does own it and make sure the rubbish is cleared.
