A bus carrying dozens of passengers was damaged when a pick-up truck collided with it while it waited at a bus-stop in Halesowen.

Around 50 passengers were on the 241 National Express West Midlands bus when it was involved in the crash opposite The Stag and Three Horseshoes pub in Kent Road.

A Ford pick-up truck is said to have clipped the rear right side of the bus as it attempted to pass on the slush-covered road.

No passengers were injured but everyone was taken off the bus while police cleared the junction. Traffic had built, causing delays.

Both drivers escaped injury. The accident happened at 3.40pm yesterday near a roundabout at the junction with Long Lane. The single-deck bus was still at the scene at 6.30pm.

The bus driver said: "There was twisted metal which was sharp and sticking out so I had to wait with it." Passengers had to wait for about 15 minutes for another bus to arrive.
