Grandmother Christine Fletcher, aged 57, of Austrey Road, Kingswinford, vanished on August 25 this year and her body found on September 2 after an extensive search of dense woodland.

At today's inquest at Stourport Coroners Court, Worcestershire coroner Geraint Williams said evidence from a police investigation showed she had driven to the beauty spot instead of going to work at the nearby post office in Granville Drive as usual.

She had then sat under a tree and consumed alcohol. Experts were unable to find a clear cause of death due to decomposition.

Mr Williams said the two letters indicated she had some concerns about issues at work. Mr Williams said: "I record an open verdict."
