Matthew Jones was spotted by a litter warden as he threw away the cigarette outside Poundland, in Park Street.

The 37-year-old from Sussex Avenue, Aldridge, was initially handed a fixed penalty of £80, but did not pay the full amount.

Walsall Magistrates found him guilty of littering in his absence today and gave him a fine of £175 and said he must pay costs of £227 and a victim surcharge of £15.
