Robbers wielding a knife and pliers burst into a Walsall home stealing the owner's keys before driving off in her blue Mini Cooper car.
Five men wearing balaclavas stormed inside the house in Melbourne Gardens, opposite the Park Hall estate.
They threatened a 49-year-old woman with their weapons before driving her vehicle away.
Detectives said today the victim had been left traumatised by the attack at 11am on Wednesday.
They believe the Mini made off from the scene together with a white new shaped Honda Civic possibly a Type R model.
Detective Matt Tromans, from the robbery team at Walsall Police Station, said they believed the crooks had targeted the victim.
"We do not think this was a random attack," he said.
"The female victim was understandably quite traumatised following the robbery.
"We would just appeal for anyone with information about those responsible to get in touch."
Officers investigating the robbery say both vehicles were later seen in Dyas Road, Great Barr, not long after the incident.
