Miss Jones, aged 30, of Bloxwich, last night threw a party to unveil her new interior design business A Few of My Favourite Things. Paula was 'fired' part way through the BBC series this year aimed to find an apprentice for tycoon Sir Alan Sugar.

Family, friends and colleagues from Walsall Council, along with another contestant Noorul Choudhury, were supporting her new ambitions at the launch at Calderfields Golf and Country Club in Aldridge.

Miss Jones, a human resources consultant manager, unveiled items from her new internet supply decor collection. She said: "It has been hard work putting it together and I am still working at the council although I am hoping to reduce my hours."

Miss Siadatan, aged 28, whose family owned the former Sofia's restaurants in Walsall and Wolverhampton, and Paula became friends on the show. She is now being mentored by Sir Alan in marketing TV digital message screens for the NHS.

* Miss Siadatan's borrowed Ford Fiesta Zetec was struck by debris from a flat after a small fire in the Bloxwich street where she was parked at 3.25pm yesterday.
