A man has been found lying unconscious in the middle of the road in the Black Country with severe facial injuries, sparking a police inquiry.

A man has been found lying unconscious in the middle of the road in the Black Country with severe facial injuries, sparking a police inquiry.

Detectives are investigating whether the 25-year-old from Brierley Hill was hit by a car or attacked. He was found sprawled in Bridge Street, Coseley, by two female motorists.

He had two fractured cheekbones, a fractured eye socket and a broken nose. Detectives say he was taken initially to New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.
