A Kidderminster church has been daubed with black paint and glitter in the latest vandal attack.

Members of Franche Community Church, in Chestnut Grove, have spent the past few days removing the mess from the walls.

Vandals struck on Thursday, splashing black poster paint, which had been mixed with glitter, over the back and side walls of the church.

In a previous attack, a caravan owned and used by the church was set on fire.

Graffiti has also been scrawled on the side of the building.

Church leader Rob Palmer said: "The church strives to work with and help the community and it is such a shame when something like this happens.

"It does knock you back a little bit and is very saddening, especially when we are trying to reach out to the community."

Mr Palmer said the church had an alarm system and the windows were protected.

"We would like CCTV to be installed as well but quite simply we cannot afford it," he said.

"It is hard to know what other security we could put in place. This is very upsetting for everyone at the church."

Anyone with information about the attack is urged to call Kidderminster police station on 0300 333 3000.
