Dozens of workers were evacuated from a factory in the Black Country after a blaze broke out.
Staff at Corus, in Wednesfield, first tried to put out the flames themselves but called firefighters when the blaze started to take hold.
Crews from throughout the region spent more than three hours bringing the flames under control in the factory's shotblasting machine at 8pm last night.
Crew commander Dave Horton, of Fallings Park fire station, said: "The fire was in a shotblasting machine."
Gas and electricity supplies to the plant were cut off while firefighters tackled the blaze.
Bob Fenton, Corus spokesman, said: "We're still assessing the damage but the machine will be out of action for some time."
A crew from Fallings Park was still at the scene this morning.
