Arrests in club murder inquiry
Three men have been arrested after a 50-year-old man was shot dead at a notorious Black Country nightclub, police said today.
The news comes as Wolverhampton MP Pat McFadden led calls for Tropical Harmony in Bilston to be shut down after the shooting, which also left another man with gunshot wounds after violence flared at 4am on Saturday.
Part of High Street was sealed off by police and businesses inside the cordon were forced to remain closed for the entire weekend.
Detectives said today the two men aged 29 and 36 had been arrested on suspicion of murder. Another man, aged 34, is suspected of conspiracy to wound and perverting the course of justice.
Mr McFadden has written to council leader Neville Patten demanding the venue is closed. "This is the second shooting at this club in just over a year," he said. "Bilston deserves better than this." Three people were shot outside the club in September last year.
