Around 15 officers stormed into two homes in Hudson Road, Tipton, at 7.30am.

In one house they found scores of black bin bags filled with cannabis and in the other they found cannabis plants, cash and small supplies of heroin and ecstasy.

Three men have been arrested for a series of drug offences and remain in police custody.

The first man, aged 29, was arrested for cultivation of cannabis and the second two, aged 31 and 28, for possession of Class A drugs.

The warrants were secured after officers received information about drug dealing in the area.

Sergeant David Rogers from Tipton station, said: "We are extremely pleased with today's results.

"We have not only taken a large amount of drugs off the streets of Tipton but have sent out a strong message to the community that we are cracking down on drug crime in the area."

The houses were two doors down from each other on the Denby estate. One neighbour, who did not want to be named, said: "I have been frightened to come out of my house some days."
