Six cockerels have been rescued by the RSPCA after residents reported seeing them in undergrowth in Bewdley.

Officers were called to the land, near to Dowles Road, and found the cockerels to be thin and weak.

One had a bleeding wound on its head. They are being boarded at Bishops Wood Swan Rescue. The birds were rescued by animal collection officer Sally Tarpey on November 4.

Sally said: "It is likely that someone abandoned them in the Wyre Forest thinking they would never be found."
