A 7ft snake believed to be a dangerous Burmese Python has been spotted on the loose in the Black Country, the RSPCA warned today.

A dog walker saw the snake on a canal towpath close to Midland Road, Darlaston, this week. The carnivorous constrictor is one of the largest snakes in the world and considered highly dangerous.

RSPCA spokeswoman Judith Haw said: "It is brown and black in colour and if anyone else sees this snake we would advise them not to approach it or try and touch it."
