A conman stole a "substantial" amount of cash from an elderly woman after tricking his way into her Midland home.
A conman stole a "substantial" amount of cash from an elderly woman after tricking his way into her Midland home.
The thief, described as a white man in his 40s, called at the woman's house in the Birchen Coppice area, Kidderminster.
He gained her trust by falsely claiming to work for police security and showing her a fake identification card. Once she had allowed him into her home he persuaded her to stay in one room.
He then searched through other parts of the house and stole the money. The thief is described as overweight and balding, and wearing dark clothing.
Police said the woman had not been hurt by the conman who struck between 12.15pm and 12.35pm on Tuesday.
