A Black Country retail park is to be expanded with more shop space and a large family restaurant, potentially creating nearly 40 jobs.

Three units at Bentley Bridge Retail Park in Wednesfield, Wolverhampton, will be expanded with a new 842 sq m mezzanine floor, while a pan-Asian restaurant, possibly part of the Cosmo chain, will be created in a ground floor site.

It is hoped the expansion will result in 26 full-time and 12 part-time jobs.

Tettenhall Wightwick councillor Wendy Thompson said: "This will be good for the retail park and good for jobs which make it good for the area."

The proposals were approved by Wolverhampton City Council's planning committee yesterday. A 24-hour gym and a new Aldi supermarket are opening at Bentley Bridge in December.
