A teenager killed in a horror hit-and-run crash in South Staffordshire was today named as James Taylor of Coseley.

The 16-year-old, who lived in Vicarage Road West, died in the crash in Gospel Ash Road, Bobbington.

A 19-year-old man from Bilston was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further police inquiries, police said today. He was arrested in a field after being spotted by crews in a police helicopter.

Three other people were injured in the smash involving a green Honda Civic, travelling towards Halfpenny Green, and a green Isuzu 4x4, travelling towards Highgate Common.

James was a rear-seat passenger in the Civic when the crash happened at 4.30pm on Wednesday. Witnesses should call Sgt Jim Harkness on 0300 123 4455.
