Calling all buglers – Severn Valley Railway is looking for players to perform The Last Post at its forthcoming Remembrance Day event.

The heritage steam railway will host a tribute to railwaymen from the county who died during the First and Second World Wars.

The event will take place on Remembrance Sunday, November 8, at the Kidderminster town station.

But bosses have been unable to find a bugle or cornet player to sound The Last Post and Reveille at the ceremony.

Organisers say they may be forced to play the tribute on tape if no musician can be found in time.

Remembrance service organiser Andrew Harding, who is also the SVR's accountant, said: "Nothing really conveys the poignancy of Remembrance Day better than a live bugle playing The Last Post, before the traditional two-minute silence."

Anyone interested should contact the SVR's Bewdley Station headquarters by calling 01299 403816.
