Poison alert on pet cats

Six cats are believed to have been deliberately poisoned within just months in one Wolverhampton street.

At least one of the cats poisoned in Rosemary Avenue, Bilston, has had to be put down after falling ill with toxic contamination.

RSPCA inspectors have now launched an investigation into whether the animals were deliberately killed by yobs in a sick game or died accidentally from a form of chemical spillage.

Vets yesterday destroyed a cat from the street after it had been poisoned and another is ill.

Four other cats from Rosemary Avenue are believed to have been poisoned in the past six months, two of which are thought to have died.
