A black Ford Focus, driven by a man who was carrying three dogs, hit the stand at the junction of Pershore Road and Canterbury Road shortly before 10.30am.

It caused part of the shelter to collapse and pulled the cable leading to the lights out of the ground, sending out sparks. Luckily no-one was standing at the bus shelter at the time of the accident.

Kidderminster firefighters and a West Midlands Ambulance crew attended the scene.

The driver and the dogs – two Staffordshire Bull Terriers and a Golden Retriever - also all managed to escape injury. The man was treated for shock at the scene.
