A concerned resident sent in photographs showing about 10 caravans moving onto Excelsior Industrial Estate, on the corner of Fairfield Road and Cakemore Road, Blackheath, on Saturday afternoon.

Bosses at PXP West Midlands, which runs the estate, said this morning they were aware of the travellers and would be calling bailiffs to remove them from the property.

Senior development manager at PXP West Midlands Stuart Wenman said: "I had a phone call yesterday from one of the traders saying travellers had moved onto the estate. "I will be calling bailiffs to get a court order to force them off."

Halesowen North councillor Jeff Hill, who visited the site to speak to concerned residents, said: "I had a number of calls from worried residents during Saturday and Sunday and went down to have a look.

"The council will be liaising closely with the owners in having the travellers removed."

Councillor Karen Shakespeare added: "There have been a number of problems with the site over the last six months, including squatters."
