Slashing prices works wonders
A last-minute ticket price cut ensured legendary seventies band The Blockheads performed to a busy Kidderminster Town Hall.
A last-minute ticket price cut ensured legendary seventies band The Blockheads performed to a busy Kidderminster Town Hall.
Only 60 tickets had been sold for Saturday night's concert by Friday, forcing organiser John Combe to slash prices to bump up the audience. But it was alright on the night after the emergency move, with around 400 people flocking through the doors for the show.
Mr Combe said: "It was a great event. I wouldn't say it was a full house but it was a good attendance, certainly nothing to be ashamed of.
"And The Blockheads went down a storm, which we knew they would.
"We had to slash the prices because we realised with this credit crunch we weren't going to hit our target for numbers."
Ticket prices were dropped from £18 and £22 to £10 and £15.
