Inspired to raise funds

Letter: This is a big thanks to all the folks at Oakham FC on behalf of Lozz Hipkiss, the organiser of the 2008 Celebration of Life festival and all the members of the committee.

Some of the lads came to a function of ours at Dudley Golf Club, raising money for our ongoing charity which funds a group of women at Sandwell Breast Unit currently undergoing treatment.

The £14,000 plus which we handed over last year is used for all sorts of different activities and needs of the women. It was decided last year we would top up the fund as and when we did an event. The lads from Oakham made it known they would like to help our efforts in some way and staged a football game which raised another £780.

It is heartwarming to think that people can be inspired by the tremendous work Lozz and the rest of the committee put in. We really thank you all.
