A body found following a garage blaze in the Black Country is believed to be that of a man, police revealed today.

But the results of the post mortem examination by pathologists have not been disclosed.

The body was discovered by firefighters called to put out a blaze at Old Park Road, between Darlaston and Wednesbury, on Wednesday.

Det Sgt Dave Hanson, of Bloxwich CID, said today: "Relatives have not been informed at the moment. The body is believed to be male.

"There is an ongoing investigation and a report will be complied and sent to the coroner's office."

Forensic experts have now completed their examinations of the scene and officers are trying to establish what caused the fire.
