Reprieve for struck-off teacher
A teacher who was struck off after being accused of swearing at pupils and pressuring a student into covering up for him has been told that he can return to the classroom.

Peter Glover, aged 41, who was assistant headteacher at the Dormston School in Sedgley, had denied the allegations against him but was found guilty of unacceptable professional conduct at a hearing in 2007.
It was alleged he had sworn repeatedly and thrown stage blocks after he was told the theatre group had cancelled a performance because he had not supplied props in time for rehearsals.
Mr Glover, previously of Limes Road, Tettenhall, Wolverhampton, was also said to have then coerced one of the girl pupils into signing a statement denying he used bad language.
At a General Teaching Council hearing in Birmingham yesterday the panel said it was satisfied that Mr Glover had learned from his experience. They were told that Mr Glover has been involved in voluntary and community projects and is training to become a counsellor for Childline.
He is also applying to become a primary school governor and training in teaching anger management.
GTC members said they were impressed by the initiative Mr Glover had shown and that it demonstrated good character.
The panel said: "We do not consider that he poses any risk to pupils or the public or to the reputation of the profession in the future if his eligibility for registration as a teacher is now restored."
