A chip shop owner from Wolverhampton who was caught trying to sell pies that were up to 13 days old has been fined £1,200.

Andreas Georgiou, 31, who runs Ashmore Chippy in Griffiths Drive, Wednesfield, was caught selling old Pukka Pies last November by environmental health officers.

He was fined £1,200 plus £1,350 costs by magistrates yesterday after admitting a food safety breach.
