Barn inferno destroys hay

Fire crews were battling a huge barn blaze at a village near Wolverhampton this afternoon.

More than 60 tons of hay and straw were destroyed in the blaze at Danford Farm in Danford Lane, Claverley.

The alarm was raised at 10.48am and crews were still at the scene at 2pm.

Shropshire Fire Service said four pumps, including one from Tettenhall, attended, and the cause was being investigated.
