Manfred legend to appear at festival

Blues and pop legend Paul Jones, formerly frontman with Manfred Mann, will head a major Wyre Forest festival.

The 60s legend, whose band had a string of hits including Doo Wah Diddy and Pretty Flamingo, has been a frontman of the Blues Band for the past 20 years and is a regular radio presenter and actor.

He will appear at this year's Bewdley Festival on October 9.

Other stars lined up for the event, which will run until October 18, will include Richard Digance, who performs songs, rhymes and stories.

Racing legend Sir Stirling Moss will be answering questions from an audience at the town's Ramada Hotel on October 10.

And actress Prunella Scales will also be performing in the play Gertrude's Secret at the same venue on October 11. Ticket details from 01905 611427.
