A man has died and another was injured after falling around 20ft through a roof at a building as they assessed it ahead of demolition.
Paramedics were called to the rear of MKG Food Products in Aldridge where they found the two men on a concrete floor.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said one man, a 62-year-old, was confirmed dead at the scene while a second, believed to be 60, was flown to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham.
Spokesman Chris Kowalik said the survivor appeared to have suffered a cut and pelvic injuries.
He said it was thought the men had been on an upper floor of the building and had then fallen. "We are led to believe that the fall was in excess of 20ft," he added.
MKG, in Westgate, today said the tragedy, at around 3pm yesterday, had not happened at its premises, but had been a neighbouring building.
West Midlands Police spokesman Billy Corrigan said: "The accident took place at a factory that was due to be bulldozed in Westgate.
He said two men had fallen through the roof while assessing it for demolition and that one of them was pronounced dead at the scene.
