About 40 people have got their jobs back after a Tipton car dealership was bought out of administration.

Vauxhall dealer Bicknells called in administrators from Smith & Williamson last month.

Trading was shut down on the company's three sites and 60 people were made redundant at the New Road site in Tipton.

Wolverhampton-based car dealer group Brindley has bought the Tipton business and recruited 40 of its former staff back on to the workforce.

Chairman Robin Brindley said today: "The Bicknells site has been a major Vauxhall dealership for over 30 years and we plan to restore it to its former glory."

More jobs could be created at the site in the future while bosses have said they will now get to work on clearing the backlog of jobs.

Brindley revealed it had been in negotiations with Smith & Williamson for some time and a deal was concluded over the weekend.
