Harvey World Travel UK Limited has lost 16 of its 57 outlets, including its UK head office in Cannock.

A total of 13 staff at the head office in Walkmill Business Park are among the redundancies, as well as nine at a call centre in Kingston Court Shopping Arcade, Cannock, and three at the Stafford Street branch in Stafford.

Two franchises, at Stone Cross in Penkridge and Market Street, Lichfield, have been secured as part of a buyout by Vacation World.

But the Wolverhampton franchise at the Swan Shopping Centre in Compton has closed with the loss of three posts.

Harvey World Travel, which operated shops across the Midlands, Southwest and East Anglia, employing 248 staff, closed around 40 branches last summer.

The UK arm of the group was sold by Stella to Natco on March 31.

Chris Ratten and Jeremy Woodside, of Tenon Recovery, have been appointed as joint adminstrators and have sold 25 of the branches.

Mr Ratten, said: "I would advise customers who have made bookings tto make contact with the credit control department of their tour operator and also to make contact with ABTA through their helpline on 01202 596699."
