The smallest art gallery in town
It could be the smallest art gallery in the Black Country – a redundant phone box in Halesowen is ringing the changes and will be given a new lease of life.
It could be the smallest art gallery in the Black Country – a redundant phone box in Halesowen is ringing the changes and will be given a new lease of life.
It will host an exhibition of paintings, photographs and sculptures.
Teresa Crawford-Docherty was so fed up looking at the empty kiosk opposite her house in Banners Street that she decided to give it a facelift.
The 40-year-old, who is studying for a masters degree in fine art at the University of Wolverhampton, has been inundated with submissions for the miniature exhibition, which opens this Sunday.
She said: "The phone box has not had a phone or cash box for a long time. It's missing a window and just looks a sorry state."
Miss Crawford-Docherty, a self-employed photographer, has photographed all of the exhibits, which range from paintings to sculptures, to produce postcard-sized prints to go on display in the Little'un Gallery.
