Sax sensation Julian Smith was today back at his Halesowen home and has already been stopped in the street by fans eager for autographs.

The 39-year-old musician took third place in the Britain's Got Talent final on Saturday behind Scottish singer Susan Boyle and winners street dancers Diversity.

After a week of intense pressure performing live before millions of viewers, Julian said it was good to be home. "The support has been amazing and I have already been stopped in the street by people asking for autographs or to have their pictures taken with me.

"It is wonderful and I am really grateful for all the interest.

"Travelling back was great as well. Because it was so hot we had to stop a few times at service stations along the way. People came over who recognised me from the show. It was quite an experience."

Julian said he had also been thrilled by the support from one of his heroes, jazz musician Kenny G.

"There might also be a chance of me performing with him which is very exciting."

Julian said a record deal had not been confirmed but was hopeful of putting out an album in the future.

"Obviously the production company has to work with all the runners up so we will just have to wait and see what happens."
