The bird, believed to be a macaw parrot, was seen by someone working on the allotments in Kingsway on Saturday. The gardener reported the sighting to police.

Dylan Evans, spokesman for West Mercia Police, said: "As far as I know we have not received any reports of a missing bird.

"The parrot is described as brightly coloured and was seen at the Kingsway allotments but we have received no further reports about the bird's whereabouts."
