A man who died in a crash has been named as 33-year-old Richard Timothy Mudie.
Mr Mudie, of Smethwick, died of multiple injuries after the silver Ford Puma he drove was in collision with a silver Ford Mondeo on Saturday along the A456 between Hagley and the Wassell Grove Island.
A post mortem was held on Tuesday and an inquest opened and adjourned at Stourport yesterday.
The driver of the Mondeo, a Birmingham man in his 30s, has chest and leg injuries and remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Pc Paul Bosley, of North Worcestershire's road policing unit, said: "Our investigation into this incident is continuing and while we have had an encouraging response from the public following our initial appeal for information, we would still be keen to hear from any further motorists who witnessed the collision or noticed either vehicle in the area beforehand.
"It's vital that we establish exactly what took place on Saturday night and even the slightest detail can make a big difference to our inquiries. "Richard's family are devastated by what has happened and we hope that their request to be left alone to grieve will be observed."
Anyone with information should call the unit at Rubery on 0300 333 3000.
