Bosses have unveiled plans to create a new landmark 70-bedroom hotel alongside it.
Supermarket giant Tesco is behind the transformation plans for a 37-acre site in the town, which is set to create 2,000 jobs.
Bosses hope the town will once again come to life with the project, which includes a supermarket, petrol station, hotel, shops, restaurants, and space for a cinema.
Full details on the scheme were today revealed for the first time, after bosses submitted a planning application to Sandwell Council.
Tesco also wants to realign the West Bromwich ringway, create a new public square and a 1,900-space car park. The store giant hopes to start work on site in spring 2010 completing the first phase in autumn 2011.
Tesco's corporate affairs manager Tony Fletcher said: "A tremendous amount of hard work has gone into the design and planning of this project."
Plans have been developed in close co-operation between Sandwell Council and RegenCo, the urban regeneration company for West Bromwich, Smethwick and Hill Top.
