A new £1 million nursery and children's centre in Wolverhampton has been officially unveiled by the city's mayor.
Ashmore Park nursery school has been refurbished as part of the long-awaited project.
Dozens of people flocked to the grand opening of the facility, which has been designed to provide a range of services to people living in Wednesfield, including a group especially for parents with children under one.
A host of other activities have also been launched at the site, including stay 'n' play activities for children aged up to five and baby massages.
The new-look nursery is kitted out with sleek light-wood furniture, which was decorated with gold balloons for the opening celebrations.
Phil Bateman, chairman of governors at the school, said: "This newly created community asset provides the very best nursery classes and at the same time combines the best activities designed to support parents with children."
A time capsule filled with school books, photographs and a recording about the history of the site and the development has been planted in the foundations of the site.
Wolverhampton Mayor, councillor Christine Mills, cut the ribbon to officially open the new nursery on Wednesday.
