Drummers beat world record
Hundreds of drummers have beaten their way into the record books after more than 600 musicians performed together in Birmingham for 10 minutes.
Dhol drummers from the Black Country and beyond gathered in Centenary Square to get into the Guinness Book of Records for the largest number of people to play simultaneously.
The previous world record, filmed for the BBC's Record Breakers programme, was set outside Sandwell Council House in Oldbury in 1999, featuring 370 drummers. But Saturday's event saw 632 musicians perform the same beats in unison.
Hundreds of people and passers-by stopped to watch the spectacle which gathered between 10am and 2pm on Saturday.
It raised around £10,000 for children's charity Barnados, Macmillan Cancer Support and the British Heart Foundation.
The event was organised by musician King Gurcharan Mall, who also helped organise the last world record attempt.
