Woman hurt in mugging

A woman was dragged along the pavement when a would-be robber on a moped grabbed her bag.

The 44-year-old victim desperately clung on when the pillion passenger of the bike tried to snatch her bag from her. She was walking along Birmingham Road, in Great Barr at 2.05pm yesterday.

She was taken to Sandwell Hospital with a shoulder injury. Two men, aged 17 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of robbery.
