Police today released CCTV footage of the eight-wheel skip wagon with a distinctive orange cab.

Victim Karl Duce suffered serious head injuries when the near 3ft-long rod smashed through the windscreen of the 27-year-old's VW Golf as he drove away from the city along Wergs Road, Tettenhall, at 3pm on March 25. The 3in-wide piece of metal is feared to have fallen from the back of a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.

The suspect skip lorry was captured on CCTV heading towards Wolverhampton on the Tettenhall Road at its junction with Albert Road at 3.10pm on the same day.

A passenger in the car was uninjured but suffered shock. Mr Duce, of Telford, was airlifted to Selly Oak Hospital where he remains under treatment.
