Man dies after fence crash

A car smashed through the garden fence of a Stourbridge home after the driver suffered a fatal heart attack at the wheel.

Residents rushed to try and resuscitate the driver after the crash in Cobden Street, Wollaston, shortly after 12pm yesterday.

However despite their efforts the 89-year-old man was pronounced dead by paramedics shortly after they arrived at the scene.

No-one else was hurt when the car veered off the road before coming to rest in the driveway of a home in the one-way street. Police blocked off the road for two hours after the crash.

Any witnesses to the crash are advised to call the road policing unit at Stourbridge police station on 0845 113 5000.
