The third victim of a horror crash near Wolverhampton was today named as Anita Heer of Tettenhall.

The 25-year-old died along with Jasvinder Randhawa, 27 of Blakenhall and Jaspal Virdee, 28 of Sutton Coldfield, on the A449 Stourbridge Road.

Candles and incense sticks were burning at the scene of the tragedy today and scores of floral tributes had been left by devastated family and friends.

Family members at Anita's home in Lower Street, Tettenhall, were too upset to talk today. But neighbour Jenny Rogers, aged 51, said the community had been "shocked" by the news.

Another Lower Street neighbour, who did not want to be named, added: "Our thoughts are with her family."

All three victims were believed to have worked at Wolverhampton-based construction giant Carillion.

The fatal crash happened at 8.30pm on Thursday between the A449's junctions with Wodehouse Lane and Lloyd Drive.

A Subaru Impreza, believed to have been driven by Miss Virdee, flipped into the air before smashing into the garden wall of a luxury house.

Sgt Stuart Carter, of Staffordshire Police, said no other vehicles were involved.

Mr Randhawa was an IT help desk worker at Carillion. His brother Harvinder owned the car and had only bought it on Monday. He said the family had been left "devastated".

Jaspal's brother Tajveer, 19, said: "She was the foundation of my family. My father passed away recently and she took over everything. It's going to be very difficult to fill the gap she's left behind."

At the scene 20-foot skidmarks were cut into the grass between the dual carriage and nearby homes.
